Hall and Miles, owners of Otahuna Lodge, approached me to create a one-of-a-kind piece for a luxury travel convention in Las Vegas. The event was a "speed dating" style showcase, where lodge owners had only three minutes with each travel agent to make a lasting impression. Hall and Miles noticed that many of their peers relied on iPads or simple flyers, which lacked the memorable impact they were seeking.
To set them apart, I designed a bespoke 3D pop-up piece inspired by Otahuna’s elegance. Constructed from acrylic and laser-cut polyprop plastic, this unique item was wrapped in leather with digitally printed adhesive graphics. Custom hinges allowed the piece to open and close smoothly, reflecting the craftsmanship and attention to detail Otahuna Lodge is known for.
Durability was also crucial, so I tested the internal pop-up components over 500 times to ensure they could withstand frequent handling. The final piece captured the attention of travel agents, providing Hall and Miles with a distinctive way to showcase Otahuna Lodge's charm and luxury.
